My Practice
The growth of psychology during the course of the last century led to the development of hundreds of different theories and methods, all with the intention of helping people find solutions to the many different personal problems that arise in life.
My practice is the result of experience over the last thirty years. Professional and personal discoveries have led me to create ways of working with people that can be effective with all ages and with diverse human concerns, from the practical to the profound.
I offer what is known as an integrative approach. This means that once we assess your needs, I draw on a range of different resources to bring therapeutic help to personal or professional, emotional, cognitive, behavioural, creative, existential, philosophical or spiritual concerns. |

I am aware that the "talking cure" is not always enough, and to help with those human concerns that lie beyond the scope of psychology, I have developed a healing practice. This practice is informed by ancient psycho-spiritual techniques preserved for millennia by healers in indigenous cultures and adapted to suit 21st century living.
I love the way traditional healers understand the importance to the whole community of the wellbeing of each individual within it, and I have worked with them in Peru as well as with medical anthropologists and psychologists closer to home to research and develop ways of bringing the ancient wisdom to my practice.
I have found that psychological methods help with some problems and the healing arts help with others. Also, some people prefer one method to another. Sometimes a combination of the two proves to be a good idea.
Whether you are dealing with the sort of symptoms listed on the Home page or with something that is hard to define, I am happy to assess your needs with you. Whatever they may be, underpinning all my work is an attunement to the unique nature of your individual human journey with its myriad possibilities. |
